Lt. Robert Gerald de Quincy, formerly of the Suffolk Regiment, served with No.1 (later becoming No.101) Troop of No.6 Commando from 1940 in Scarborough until, around March 1941 when following the promotion of Lt. Montanaro to Troop Captain after Capt. Woollitt’s accident he was RTU-ed to his parent regiment – apparently on promotion..

He was commissioned on 9th March 1940.
