Lt. Donald Arthur Edward Dixon

Lt. Donald Arthur Edward Dixon, formerly of the Kings Regiment, served with No.4 Troop of No.6 Commando from, at least, 20th July 1944 when he joined the unit from the Beach Units with 16 other ranks.

Lt. Dixon was wounded on 18th August 1944 during action around Le Plain Gruchet (near the village of Goustranville), Normandy.

Donald was reported as having been wounded on Wednesday, 24th January 1945 during action around Maasbracht ( Limburg Province, Netherlands ), and to have been wounded again on 24th March 1945 during the Operation: Plunder taking of Wesel following the assault crossing of the River Rhine and consequently captured by a German patrol whilst patrolling outside of Plein Gruchet. He spent the final years of the war as a PoW.

He was commissioned on12th June 1943.
