VI COMMANDO

Lt. William Gordon Fielding MC, formerly of the 1^st Battalion of the Royal Irish Fusiliers, was reported as being posted to No.4 Troop of No.6 Commando from 11^th July 1945.

Lt. William Fielding was awarded the Military Cross for his actions under-fire at Maletto on 12^th August 1945, whilst serving with the Royal Irish Fusiliers.
