Capt. John Murray Scott

Lt. John Murray Scott, formerly of the Border Regiment, served as Troop Sub-Altern No.5 Troop of No.6 Commando from, at least, 8th May 1942. He was promoted as a Troop Captain of No.3 Troop from, at least, 25th November 1942 .

Capt. John Scott was Killed In Action (KIA) by gunshot wound to his head on 30th November 1942 during the aborted attack on Djeb-el-Azzag (‘Green Hill’), aged just 26 years. He was the son of John James Scott (a Solicitor) and Maud Mary Scott, of Chipstead, Surrey. John is commemorated on the Medjez-El-Bab memorial. Face 21.
