	VI COMMANDO

	Capt. John Edwin Thompson MC (S/N 138288)
		Capt. John Edwin Thompson, formerly of the South Wales Borderers and No.4 Commando, transferred to No.6 Commando from No.4 Commando on 25^th July 1943 and was posted to No.4 Troop. He was still in command of No.4 Troop on 24^th February 1944. Later he commanded No.5 Troop of No.6 Commando. He was awarded the Military Cross on 15^th July 1944. Later he was promoted to Lt-Colonel. He became the Headmaster of Keswick School.
