Spr. R. John Allen, formerly of the Royal Engineers, served with No.3 Troop of No. 6 Commando.

Spr. R. John Allen was Killed In Action (KIA) on 29th April 1945 during the assault over the River Elbe at Lauenburg as part of Operation: Enterprise.

He is laid to rest in Becklingen War Cemetery (Soltau, Niedersachsen, Germany), Grave 17.F.4.
