RSM Cliff L.G. Bryen

RSM. Cliff L.G. Bryen, formerly of the Middlesex Regiment, served with No.1 Section of No.5 Troop of No.6 Commando as a L/Sgt. from at least 9th December 1941 - having suffered injuries including a cut to his right forehead following the grenade accident aboard HMS PRINCE CHARLES on 9th December 1941 during the preparations for the raid on Florø (NORWAY). 

He continued to serve with No.6 Commando and was promoted to Sergeant on 24th February 1943.

By D-Day, C.L.G. Bryen had been promoted to a Regimental Sergant Major in No.6 Commando.

RSM C.L.G. Bryen was captured in Normandy on 10th June 1944, whilst travelling in a jeep along the roads near Le Plein.

He was made a PoW in Stalag IVB at Mühlberg near the River Elbe (Germany), but upon release returned to No.5 Troop of No.6 Commando from, at least, June 1945.
