Prt. George Croal, formerly of the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders, served with No.2 Troop of No.6 Commando from, at least, May 1944. Prt. George Croal was Killed in Action (KIA) by machine gun He had survived his belated wife, Isabella Croal George was laid to rest in Ranville War Cemetry (France). Grave IIIA. O. 5. The inscription on his headstone reads: ‘Always loving, always kind. He died as he lived, everyone’s friend.’ |
