VI COMMANDO

Prt. John Henry Eltridge, formerly of The Queen's Royal Regiment (West Surrey), served in No.6 Commando.

Prt. John Eltridge was Killed In Action (KIA) on 11th April 1945, aged 18 years.

John was the son of Francis William Eltridge, and of Margaret Eunice Eltridge, of Islington, London. He was laid to rest in Celle War Cemetery (Celle, Niederschsen, Germany) Grave 3.F.4.

The inscription on his headstone reads:

‘In loving memory of our Dear John. For ever in our hearts.’
