Sgt. Arthur Edward Embelin

Sgt. Arthur Edward Embelin, formerly of the Royal Engineers, served in No.1 (later becoming No.101) Troop of No.6 Commando from 1940 (Scarborough) until, at least, 13th March 1942.

With the move from No.101 Troop of No.6 Commando to No.2 Special Boat Section (SBS) in February/March 1942 he received promotion to WO2.

WO2 Arthur Edward Embelin was Killed In Action on 8th November 1942 during OPERATION RESERVIST by a shell from a Vichy French Destroyer whilst onboard HMS Walney in Oran Harbour . Arthur is comemorated on Panel 4, Column 3 of Brookwood Memorial, Surrey .

He was the son of Marion Embelin of Dublin , Eire .
