VI COMMANDO

Prt. Patrick D. Gillen served as a clerk in the Orderly Room of HQ Troop of No.6 Commando.

With the disbandment of No.6 Commando in 1945, Prt. Patrick Gillen returned to his parent regiment, The Royal Norfork - 4th Battalion, as Orderly Room Sergeant.

On return to Ireland , he joined the Artillery Regiment (Irish Army Reserve) attaining rank of Battery Commander. His Official Rank was Commandant and he retired from this in 1982.
