VI COMMANDO

Cpl. A. ‘Taffy’ John, formerly of the R.A.V.C., served with No.1 Section of No.3 Troop of No.6 Commando from at least May 1944, and was known to be the Troop’s 2” Mortar man (No.1) with Spr. J.W. "Big Bill" Scott as the No.2 Mortar man.

In late 1945, Cpl. “Taffy” John was reported as being transferred to No.4 Commando for the purposes of occupation operations in Germany.
