Prt. Gordon Roy Penewitt. formerly of the 168^th Rifle Regiment of the Iowa National Guard (34^th Division), served with No.6 Commando and was reported as being Killed In Action (KIA) on 22^nd November 1942, aged 2 0 years .

Prt. Gordon Penewitt's parents passed away when he was an infant and he was raised by his Auntie, Carrie I. Stone, in Mills County, Iowa, USA. He attended the Glenwood High School.
