VI COMMANDO

Rfn. Charles Edward James Roberts, formerly of the King's Royal Rifle Corps, served with No 6 Commando.

Rfn. Charles Roberts was Killed In Action (KIA) on 11th April 1945, aged 27 years.

Charles was the son of Charles and Susan Roberts; and the husband of Ivy Alice Roberts, of Stockwell, London. He was laid to rest in Celle War Cemetery (Celle, Niederschsen, Germany) Grave 3.F.7.

The inscription on his headstone reads:

‘Abide with me.  Peace and rest at last my darling.’
