VI COMMANDO

Prt. Thomas Edward Simmons, formerly with the Duke of Wellington’s Regiment and No.4 Commando, served with No.6 Troop of No.6 Commando from, at least, October 1943 until 1945.

He is noted as being with the No.6 Troop tape laying party from the Rhine riverbank to the edge of Wesel during Operation Plunder, the crossing of the River Rhine.
