VI COMMANDO

Prt. George Simpson, formerly of the Black Watch (Royal Highlanders), served with No.5 Troop of No.6 Commando from, at least, October 1943.

Prt. George Simpson was reported as being Killed In Action (KIA) on 6th June 1944, aged 20 years onboard the landing craft.

George was the son of Mark and Harriet Simpson, of Fort William, Inverness-shire, and was commemorated on the Bayeux Memorial (Bayeux War Cemetery) Panel 16, Column 1.
